New cloud services and software expand revenue opportunities for channel partners selling HPE GreenLake; Updates to HPE Pro Series help partners transform customer experiences and drive joint business success

San Jose, Calif., – June 23, 2020 – Hewlett Packard Enterprise today announced a number of as-a-Service offerings and initiatives to help partners expand revenue opportunities, accelerate delivery and transform client relationships with HPE’s breakthrough cloud services and software platform. These new HPE GreenLake cloud services and software offerings optimized for the edge, data center and co-location facilities deliver new levels of speed and innovation to customers. HPE also announced plans to integrate partners onto HPE GreenLake Central to expand partner collaboration and as-a-Service sales with customers. Additionally, HPE unveiled updates to the HPE Pro Series programs to help HPE’s channel partners enhance learning and increase their solution expertise.

“HPE GreenLake gives us 100% uptime, and the predictable pricing model is already helping us cut costs,” said Ed Hildreth, Manager of IT Distributed Systems, Mohawk Valley Health System. “Thanks to the cloud-like experience, when we needed to quickly activate additional features and resources in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were able to easily roll this out with no time delay. More than 700 partners in the HPE channel ecosystem actively sell HPE GreenLake, and over the past year, there has been a 47%1 increase in HPE GreenLake orders from partners. HPE GreenLake has become the focal point for driving digital transformation with clients and a source of profitability for a steadily increasing number of partners. The HPE GreenLake for Partners Program is one of the most competitive in the industry, with the highest rebate and the ability for partners to add their own services with consumption offers for customers.

Accelerated Delivery of HPE GreenLake

The new generation of HPE GreenLake cloud services provides an accelerated delivery experience for partners and their customers. Partners can quickly respond to customer demand with streamlined delivery – from order to run in as few as 14 days. Based on pre-integrated building blocks, the new cloud services are now available in small, medium and large configurations, and rapidly scalable. With this standardized, solution-centric approach, partners can more easily provide quotes to customers.

New HPE GreenLake Cloud Services for Distributed Environments

Partners can now offer their customers new, best-in-class cloud services through a catalogue on HPE GreenLake Central. These services, which can all be deployed and run in the customers’ environment, include:

 

  • Cloud services for Containers 
  • Cloud services for Virtual Machines, Storage, Compute 
  • Cloud services for Data Protection 
  • Cloud services for Networking

Collaborative Opportunities with HPE GreenLake Central

HPE GreenLake Central is the advanced software platform that provides customers with a consistent cloud experience for all their applications and data through an operational console that runs, manages and optimizes their entire hybrid IT estate. The platform allows users to get up-to-date information about their costs, capacity, or status of HPE GreenLake cloud services through a simple point-and-click interface. HPE is actively integrating partners end-to-end across HPE GreenLake Central, and in 2021, partners will have their own access to the platform, providing them a unified view of customer data and further opportunities to engage with customers or sell additional services.

New HPE GreenLake for Partners Program Offerings

Partners can now sell the following HPE GreenLake cloud services via the HPE GreenLake for Partners Program:

 

  • HPE GreenLake Expanded Storage Partner Ecosystem
    To better support customers in their digital transformation efforts, partners must be able to offer choice and a broad range of consumption opportunities within the HPE GreenLake experience. In addition to the HPE GreenLake converged data management and modern file storage cloud services offerings with Cohesity and Qumulo, respectively, partners can now offer scalable object storage with Scality RING and consumption-based data protection with Veeam.     
  • HPE GreenLake Management Services
    HPE is helping partners on the journey from value-added reseller (VAR) to managed service provider (MSP) by extending the capability to sell HPE GreenLake Management Services, thus providing additional recurring revenue opportunities. This suite of services can be added to HPE GreenLake offers to help manage, operate and optimize infrastructure in addition to apps and workloads in specialized environments, such as SAP HANA or Hadoop.

 

Container Enablement

As more organizations invest in containers as part of their digital transformation strategies, HPE is offering new learning opportunities for partners to build practices and skills related to containers. Container and Software competencies are being integrated into the HPE Partner Ready program, and HPE is expanding content on the HPE Ezmeral Container Platform to be available via HPE Sales Pro and HPE Tech Pro.

Enhanced Learning Experiences Through HPE Pro Series

HPE has consistently invested in resources to help partners embrace its technology vision and create more dynamic customer experiences. Since the HPE Pro Series launch, the HPE Tech Pro community has grown more than 50% quarter over quarter, and over 60,000 partners visit Seismic every month. HPE aims to provide partners with the same personalized learning experience as its sales teams – as well as forums to find the right specialists who can help them close deals faster and differentiate through expertise.

  • HPE Tech Pro
    HPE Tech Pro has expanded continuous learning badges and introduced new segment-focused content with the launch of the specialized SMB portal experience, an accelerated virtual event strategy that enables partners to take exams and certify at a deep discounts or for free, and new competencies to help partners embrace an outcome-based solution selling approach. The community now also provides a localized portal in 13 languages.     
  • HPE Marketing Pro
    Formerly the HPE Partner Ready Digital Marketing Program, HPE Marketing Pro provides tailored content, learning opportunities and resources to help partners advance their end-to-end marketing effectiveness and drive growth with HPE. The HPE Marketing Pro Learning Center is now available in seven local languages and includes an accreditation option. SAN JOSE, Calif., June 23, 2020 – Hewlett Packard Enterprise today introduced HPE Ezmeral, a new brand and software portfolio designed to help enterprises accelerate digital transformation across their organization, from edge to cloud. HPE Ezmeral spans a complete portfolio – including container orchestration and management, AI/ML and data analytics, cost control, IT automation and AI-driven operations, and security – enabling organizations to increase agility and efficiency, unlock insights, and deliver business innovation.

The HPE Ezmeral portfolio plays an essential role in HPE’s edge-to-cloud platform-as-a-service strategy. Today, HPE also introduced new HPE GreenLake cloud services, which provide an agile, lower cost, and consistent cloud experience everywhere. As part of this news, HPE announced that HPE Ezmeral Container Platform and HPE Ezmeral ML Ops will be made available as cloud services through HPE GreenLake to bring even greater speed and simplicity to containerized application development, and DevOps agility to the ML lifecycle.

HPE Ezmeral Container Platform software provides the flexibility to deploy and manage containerized applications at scale on any infrastructure – in enterprise data centers, colocation facilities, multiple public clouds, and at the edge. Customers can run cloud-native or non-cloud-native applications in containers without costly refactoring, manage multiple Kubernetes clusters with a unified control plane, and leverage a high-performance distributed file system for persistent data and stateful applications through HPE’s proven innovations such as HPE Ezmeral Data Fabric and the KubeDirector open source project. Now HPE Ezmeral Container Platform will also be delivered as a cloud service through HPE GreenLake.

HPE Ezmeral ML Ops software leverages containerization to streamline the entire machine learning model lifecycle across on-premises, public cloud, hybrid cloud, and edge environments. The solution introduces a DevOps-like process to standardize machine learning workflows and accelerate AI deployments from months to days. Customers benefit by operationalizing AI / ML data science projects faster, eliminating data silos, seamlessly scaling from pilot to production, and avoiding the costs and risks of moving data. HPE Ezmeral ML Ops will also now be available through HPE GreenLake.

Commitment to Open Source – HPE is actively engaged in the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) and Kubernetes community, with open source projects such as KubeDirector, Secure Production Identity Framework for Everyone (SPIFFE) and SPIFFE Runtime Environment (SPIRE). These projects are a key component of the HPE Ezmeral strategy to deliver an open and flexible software portfolio that helps customers avoid vendor lock-in.

  • A key component of the HPE Ezmeral Container Platform is an HPE-contributed open source project, KubeDirector, which provides the ability to run non-cloud-native monolithic applications (i.e., complex, stateful, scale-out application clusters requiring persistent storage) on Kubernetes.
  • HPE’s acquisition in February 2020 of Scytale for cloud-native security underscores its commitment to the open source ecosystem, with ongoing contributions to open source projects, including SPIFFE and SPIRE.
  • On June 22, CNCF announced that SPIFFE and SPIRE have been promoted from sandbox to incubation-level hosted projects. This is an important development that signifies the continued evolution and market adoption of the projects.
  • Since joining CNCF, the SPIFEE and SPIRE projects have grown in popularity and have been deployed by notable companies such as Bloomberg, Bytedance, Pinterest, Square, Uber, and Yahoo Japan. SPIRE has a thriving developer community, with an ongoing flow of commits and merged contributions from organizations such as Amazon, Bloomberg, Google, Hewlett-Packard Enterprise, Pinterest, Square, TransferWise, and Uber.
